   Bought this for my mom’s wheelchair…she forgets to put on brakes before attempting to stand. My husband is very mechanically inclined, can almost install/fix anthing. But the install of this device on my mom’s wheelchair gave him fits. When she tried it out It seemed to work…at first…on a recent visit to my mom’s I noticed that one of the brackets is loose so brake only works on one side. Very disappointed in this expensive product.

   Bought this for my 101 yr old mother-in-law who can’t remember to lock her brakes. Took 15 minutes to install and another 5 to adjust brake arms properly. Rolls easily when she sits and locks immediately when she rises and it will not roll backward. Great relief for my wife who worries as her mother in a nursing home has fallen a few times trying to move from her wheelchair to her bed or to use the bathroom.
   I do a lot of this type work so it may take someone else a little longer. But I think anyone with a little assembly and repair type skills will have no issue. Properly adjusting the brake arms is critical to proper operation, but relatively easy to get right.

   I put this on my mom’s wheelchair. She has MCI and has fallen over a dozen times in the last few years, almost all due to wheelchair rollback. She can’t remember to put the brakes on.
   I had this installed in about 15 minutes, followed by another 15 minutes for adjustment. This should be on every wheelchair used by an elderly person!!

   Braking works if adjusted right. The lift lever can hurt caregiver so cut off my lever.

   This works great to keep the wheelchair from moving backwards when my mom stands up. She had been falling because she forgot to put on the brakes and then she would fall when it slipped out from behind her. The only thing I didn’t realize was when this is attached, the wheelchair is no longer foldable. So we had to get another wheelchair to use to move in and out of the car. But I still highly recommend this for people who forget to use the brakes to help avoid falls

   Works great for my 95 year old mom who doesn’t have the strength to lock brakes in her wheel chair. The chair now is locked unless she is sitting in it. Much safer.

   25 mins to install alone with a ratchet set and vice grips; most of that time was figuring out how it worked, 10 mins of actual work.
