   This wheelchair is amazing! I bought it for my sister-in-law that suffered a stroke and lost mobility on her left side! She loves this chair! It’s lightweight, folds easy for transport. Larger wheels for outdoor terrain. Turn radius is small so it is good for her small apartment. I did a lot of research before I bought one and I couldn’t have made a better choice. I highly rate the company that I bought it from. I got it in a timely manner. Thank you. It has changed her life!!!
   

5. Is the Pride Mobility Jazzy Carbon Worth It? Verified Buyer – 11 April 2025

   The Pride Mobility Jazzy Carbon is an outstanding value at this price, which is 1500 dollars less than the Porto Mobility Ranger Carbon. It is lightweight at 40 pounds and folds up to “check in luggage” at airline spec of under or near 62 inches total. It can be gate checked. The battery is approved by major airlines for removal and then stow to carry on baggage. Due to the light weight, there are some compromises, thin seat and back padding (small shallow seat is goof for a small person, not a large person), just cheap foam on the handlebar in back instead of a nice velcro ballistic material that would hold up better over time. There is no “carry bag” for it according to Pride Mobility, but the Porto Mobility transport bag for any of their D-09 based series, Ranger folding, etc, fits great and is a very nice durable transport bag when folded. The motors on the Jazzy Carbon are “soft start” and not as quick or speedy as the Portfo Mobility units, but, especially for the dollar, and with the huge global and physical presence of a very responsive support network of dealers and also the Pride Mobility factory and headquarters in Pensylvania, is a huge plus. This unit is perfect for airline travel. Or car transport at 40 pounds if one does not have a rear electric lift or side door minivan ramp, etc. The front foot plate is very fragile. If someone were to put weight on it at the “advertised” weight rating of this chair, it will likely break. So, best to sit on the chair when the plate is up, then lower it and use it for just your feet support. Though the chair is “rated or advertised” for a heavy person, it is doubtful to hold up well unless only on smooth surface, indoors, etc, for over 160-170 pounds. Also, whether because of the tire material and substance or the small diameter, it does not do well over even small floor transition strips, etc. Be sure to only purchase from a verified (google) online or local dealer for Pride Mobility Products with a physical store presence, great customer service history with “real email” contacts and “real phone call” presence and responsiveness. Check BBB ratings and BBB certifications as well because there are a lot of fancy online websites and “dealers” that are here today, and gone to “Maui”. And, do not return emails or phone calls for questions or service, etc.

   We appreciate that it has a slim design and can actually get into our bathroom and bedroom. It does not do well on uneven surfaces, and will not even go over a one inch threshold. We had purchased this chair with the intention of taking it to Italy, but after 3 months of use at home, I know that it would not perform well on cobblestones or the inevitable doorway thresholds found in older cities. We’ve already had to replace the armrests for $70 as they were shredding. The legrest does not stay up during transfers; we need to lift the edge of the seat cushion and tuck it under to keep it up and out of the way. The cushion that came with the chair is thin and uncomfortable. We replaced it with a thicker molded foam cushion that feels better.
