   I came to best-wheelchair.com to buy a cheap $100 wheelchair for my dad but saw this model and decided to splurge since my dad is so awesome. Chair exceeded my expectations. It is very comfortable and lightweight but built like a tank. This is not your nursing home unit. It is minimalistic yet fully functional. The wheels roll smoothly without slop. The seat and backrest are very comfortable. Although the chair is on the small side, it fitted him perfectly because he is only 100 pounds. The arm rests are not removable, although this is not a feature he needs. The arm rest padding is fairly firm, not in a bad way. This chair is so well built I think it will be around to pass on to future generations.

   While the build quality and design of this chair are very nice, making an ideal travel chair, this is absolutely not built for “average size” adult males. Since I am quite lean, I fit in it (laterally)but am somewhat scrunched up. So unless you are shorter than 5’8”, and weigh less than 125 lbs, look elsewhere for an “everyday chair”. Again, as a travel chair, it is perfect: due to the fact that it is only 19 lbs, and folds in two ways, it fits in any trunk, and can be lifted in and out with ease. As this chair is almost three times the price of my “everyday chair”, which is far more comfortable and convertible, it is a difficult purchase to validate.

   This wheelchair is EXCELLENT! It is light weight, yet sturdy, easy to manoeuvre and collapses down quickly and efficiently to a small, light bundle that can be put in a small car or even put in the passenger cabin of aircraft rather than be put in the hold. The ergonomic shape of the drive rail allows complete control when stopping or when going up/down an incline. The chair I purchased is the 16″ width and I am comfortable all day. It is expensive, but when compared to other so called ‘light weight’ wheelchairs which are still 35-40 lbs this chair is only 18 lbs and less if you remove the rigging and 20″ wheels. Like I said before an excellent wheelchair.

   Recently we purchased KARMAN wheelchair for our daughter who has limb-girdle muscular dystrophy. First we saw this wheelchair with small wheels at a dealer in Boca Raton while on vacation. We asked the dealer to order one with large wheels, and a week later still didn’t arrive. We found the same chair checking with best-wheelchair.com and delivery was within 2 days. It arrived after a day of placing the order. The wheelchair is really amazing. I just wonder why it is not available in Canada.
   One draw back for us is the low height of the seat. Users with muscular dystrophy have no strength in their arms. A seat at a low level makes it harder for us to lift our daughter from the wheelchair. It would be great if there would be a choice of a seat at 20/22 height, she could just slip off or it would be easier on our backs when lifting her. Alternatively, it would be great if the height of the chair seat was adjustable.
   All in all, the wheelchair is light and easy to lift in and out from a car. best-wheelchair.com delivery was beyond expectations.
