I had to recently get a wheelchair due to severe arthritis. This is the first one that I purchased and I am thrilled. I’ve had this for two months and have used on vacation as well as locally and both self-propelled as well as pushed. This provides a smooth ride and is easy to push. The only slightly negative is that the foot rests aren’t as sturdy as I would like. It fits up to tables pretty well. The pocket on the back is also handy to have.

I first got a wheelchair from drive seven years ago after a knee amputation. I used it in the exact same manner for five years before I had to replace the seat and the armrest. So I was upset when I ordered a replacement seat and it needed to be replaced after Five months then I ordered another replacement seat that needed to be replaced after eight months so by that time after seven years, the brakes needed to be replaced and the back needed to be replaced and in general, the whole chair was done for so I showed out for a brand new chair. Two months later, the seat needs to be replaced the bars that are inside the seat are bent. So like I said, I haven’t changed how I’ve used the wheelchair. If anything I’ve become easier on it. I’ve lost 50 pounds so I don’t know what to say other than be careful because I’m just so disappointed that I will probably never buy from Drive again.

(I’ve owned this for about 3 years now, and this review is an update)
I received this in two days with best-wheelchair.com Prime. This is a good wheelchair, and it was almost fully assembled when I received it. All I had to do was to connect the leg rests on the frame. The leg rests are not only expandable, they’re also removable. I use them outside my apt usually as it gives me more door entry space to work without them. This wheelchair is a little squeaky in the big wheel areas, but I bought a good Stanley Ratchet Wrench and Adjustable Wrench to fix that. The wheels are a hard plastic, not rubber like my last wheelchair was, and I like that. My previous wheelchair made messy marks in and on my kitchen linoleum. I had a footrest crack on me and a tire from a wheel come undone, but the Warranty/Customer Service at Drive Medical took prompt care of that, replacing both. I still use it regularly, 3 years later.

My wife needed a wheelchair due to neuropathy in her ankles and this was wide enough for her to use comfortably and has stood up well. It has changed her life. It is light enough if I need to take it with us, I can load it into the car.

I just received my new chair today. So far I think I like it alright. I have only been able to use it around the house. I was a little surprised as to how wide it is; I’m 5’2″ and 120 pounds and it makes me look like a little kid! I cannot make it through my bedroom door with my hands on the wheels, I have to scoot with my feet. I’m sure if I had actually checked the measurements before I bought it I would have chosen differently…that’s my fault so not going to take that away from the rating. The description of the chair says it has various arm styles; that is not the case. The arms are not changable at all. I am only going to be using this chair while I recover from knee surgery; If I needed a chair for everyday life I would look into something a little more expensive/better quality. I will update my rating after this weekend when I get to use it outside.

Tried to refund, but was denied. Good chair though.

Just as advertised. Went together in 5 minutes and seems to be of the same build quality of the same model we have had for years.
