The locking mechanisms are too difficult for my 87-yr-old mom to operate without significant difficulty. I realize that the locks must be strong, but perhaps this is a bad design feature, or perhaps the locks will become easier to operate as they are used more and more.
To be fair, my mom is quite weakened from a lengthy period in the hospital and in a rehab facility. There she was taught chair use on a Drive chair that was well-broken in.

We needed a wheelchair with leg lifts and this is the one our insurance plan sent my daughter. The Silver Sport 2 is so much easier to push around than the wheelchairs that we used in the hospital. What a dream. The leg lifts work better, as well. One of them did jam in a position that was too high, but I fixed it by unscrewing a nut to release the lever. Lesson learned: do not store the wheelchair in the car with the leg lifts elevated.
The leg lifts adjust to any height and are removable for storage. The chair folds up by lifting the center of the seat. Push that same area to unfold. It’s very easy. Lifting the chair into the trunk is harder. It’s a little heavy, but doable if you have a good back. The folded chair will fit in the trunk of my Honda Odyssey. If I take the leg lifts off, I have enough room to place storage tub there, as well, so it doesn’t take up as much room as expected. After a few days of taking the leg lifts off and putting them back on, I’ve decided to leave the leg lifts on and take the storage tub out of the car.
